The sound of laughter caught my attention: two girls, side by side with heads barely a hair's-breadth apart, staring my way and giggling. My first thought is that I'm flattered, but realism kicks in; I know they're staring at my ears. Feeling my face burn, I pulled my collar up and hurried away.
