Summary: By now, everyone had heard that story.
“Come with us, Subject Sixteen. There’s someone we’d like you to meet.”
The man in cuffs shot a glare at the speaker. “My name is-“
The slap caught him by surprise; pain exploded across his cheek and all he could do was gasp. Beside him the labcoat-clad scientist gave him a look of casual disdain. “Your name will be whatever we assign, do you understand? You are our sixteenth subject and that is the title you will be known as.”
The second blow, delivered by the security guard behind him, landed before he could even open his mouth to object. Stars spiralled across his vision. It was wiser to nod silently. For now.
The grey haired man - Warren Vidic, he’d called himself - smirked. “I assume you have heard the rumours. But did you ever believe you would meet the man who killed your Mentor?”
